6MaF (Science and Instrumentation for eXtreme Magnetic Fields) is a bilateral collaboration between LNCMI and ISSP-IMGSL (Institute for Solid State Physics, International Megagauss Science Laboratory) of the University of Tokyo. The project addresses the challenge of performing scientific experiments in the highest available magnetic fields characterized by micro-second durations and the presence of transient electromagnetic disturbances. Its objective is to promote Megagauss fields by implementing new experimental techniques and producing landmark scientific results. The collaboration has given rise to long-term visits in both directions and is currently funded by CNRS in the framework of the IRP SIAMM (International Research Project, Science and Instrumentation for Megagauss Magnetic fields, 2024-2029).
