As an international research organisation, the EMFL condemns this flagrant violation of international rules. We reject any use of force to settle political problems. The people of Ukraine – and in particular our scientific partners – can count on our solidarity.
Science thrives on exchanges between countries, and peace is fundamental to this. People from all over the world have worked together peacefully for many years as part of the partnership between partner laboratories within the EMFL. We are convinced that research creates strong links across national and political barriers.
We firmly support the sanctions imposed by the European Community and its international partners. For the time being, all cooperation with Russia and Belarus is suspended. We deeply regret having to take this decision.
