ATZORI Matteo

Researcher

CNRS Researcher (Section 16) since 2021, I work at the boundary between chemistry and physics on two fascinating topics revolving around structural chirality, molecular magnetism, optical spectroscopy and light-matter interaction under magnetic field.
Currently, I apply a Coordination Chemistry approach to identify the physico-chemical parameters that are at the origin of Magneto-Chiral Dichroism in molecular systems. The final aim is to provide design principles for the preparation of chiral molecular materials highly responsive to light and magnetic fields.
In parallel, I investigate the interaction between chiral systems and unpolarized light in magnetic fields, a phenomenon known as Magneto-Chiral Photochemistry. The final aim is to evaluate the relevance of this phenomenon as a mechanism for the origin of molecular homochirality.
