A little history
- After completing a thesis on quantum oscillations in 2D systems at the ENS Solid State Physics Group on the Jussieu campus and obtaining the agrégation in physics in 1981, I joined the CNRS in 1981 as an attaché “de recherches agrégé”.
- I did a post-doctoral stay at IBM (Yorktown Heights, NY USA) in 1984 on the Quantum Hall effect and in particular the role of edge states.
- I exchanged my CNRS research post for a two-year lectureship at the Université d’Orsay (1986-1987)
- I became research director in 1991 at the CRISMAT laboratory in Caen, where I was in charge of the Physics group until 2012. There I worked on superconducting cuprates, colossal magnetoresistance manganites and multi ferroic compounds.
- I was French Director of the Institut Laue Langevin from 2012 to 2017, where I was in charge of the Millénium and then Endurance instrumentation programs.
- I joined Institut Neel in 2017 where I worked on epitaxial oxide magnetic thin films.
- I joined the LNCMI in 2018.
