IT and networks Toulouse

Whether you are a visitor or a future employee (permanent/CDD/intern/doctoral), you must accept the IT charter before using the laboratory’s IT resources.

Visitors :

Internet connexion :

Two Wi-Fi networks are available at LNCMI Toulouse: the Eduroam network and a guest Wi-Fi network.
For the latter, if you need an account (if you don’t have an Eduroam account), you can contact the IT department, which will provide you with one.
Ideally, we recommend making this request before you arrive (via your local contact).

Laboratory access :

Access to the laboratory requires a badge to open the door.

  • If you are visiting for a few days, you can request a badge from the reception desk.
  • If you’re staying for several weeks, you can ask the IT department for a badge.

Printing :

At present, we do not offer printing solutions for visitors. However, you can ask your local contact to print your documents if required.

Future staff (permanent/cdd/intern/doctoral) :

Internet connexion :

A wired network is available for access to printers, license servers and data servers.
Only PCs installed by the IT department can connect to this network. All other PCs will be considered as visitor PCs and will only have access to the Wi-Fi network.

Laboratory access :

Access to the laboratory requires a badge to open the door. The IT department will provide you with a badge on arrival.

User data :

Data servers are backed up regularly to ensure maximum protection in the event of any incident (hardware or otherwise).
Several storage spaces are available:

  • A personal space to store your work, research, internship or thesis data.
  • A common space for sharing data with the whole laboratory.
  • A dedicated space for teams/departments to share data between members of the same team or department.
  • An OpenData space for depositing open research data.

We strongly recommend that you store your most important data on these servers, to guarantee its security.

Please note that the CNRS prohibits the use of AI using your work/research/internship data, but also clouds such as OneDrive, DropBox, GoogleDrive, etc…

A cloud account (NextCloud) can be set up: ask your IT department for access details.

Mails :

When you arrive, the IT department will set up an e-mail account.
Please note that the CNRS forbids any synchronization with Google/Microsoft, so it is forbidden to set up your CNRS mailbox on the GMAIL application of your smartphone or tablet.
