IT and networks Grenoble

Whether you are a visitor or a future employee (permanent – fixed-term contract – trainee – doctoral student), you must accept the IT charter before using the laboratory’s IT resources.

Visitors :

Internet connexion :

Two Wi-Fi networks are available at LNCMI Grenoble: the Eduroam network and a guest Wi-Fi network.

Laboratory access :

Access to the laboratory requires authorization to open certain doors with a badge.

  • If you are visiting for a few days or several weeks, ou can request a badge from the reception desk.

Printing :

At present, we do not offer printing solutions for visitors. However, you can ask your local contact to print your documents if required.

Future staff (permanent – fixed-term – trainee – doctoral student) :

Internet connexion :

A wired network is available for access to printers, license servers and data servers.
Only PCs installed and listed by the IT department can connect to this network. Any other PC will be considered a guest PC and will only have access to the guest network.

User data :

Data servers are backed up regularly to ensure maximum protection in the event of any incident (hardware or otherwise).
Several storage spaces are available:

  • A personal space to store your work, research, internship or thesis data.
  • A common space for sharing data with the whole laboratory.
  • A dedicated space for teams/departments to share data between members of the same team or department.
  • A Cloud space ( CRIC’s Nextcloud ) to store your data for sharing or other purposes.

We strongly recommend that you store your most important data on these servers, to guarantee its security.

Please note that the CNRS prohibits the use of AI using your work/research/internship data, but also clouds such as OneDrive, DropBox, GoogleDrive, etc…

Mails :

When you arrive, the IT department will set up an e-mail account.
Please note that the CNRS forbids any synchronization with Google/Microsoft, so it is forbidden to set up your CNRS mailbox on the GMAIL application of your smartphone or tablet.
