The very strong enantioselective electron spin \u2013 chiral material interaction observed represents both an intriguing fundamental question and the promise of an extensive range of large-scale applications, ranging from spintronic devices like circularly polarized light emitting diodes and magneto-chiral optical memories, up to enantiomer separation and efficient electrolysis for hydrogen generation. However, so far, no satisfactory explanation for the strong CISS effects has been found, which holds back the realization of its enormous application potential.
